The Winthrop University Foundation’s accounting policy is to utilize the market approach according to the Financial Accounting Standards Board and generally accepted accounting principles. That is, income received will be in the form of interest, dividends or gains and losses realized or unrealized for purposes of crediting accounting with appropriate returns.
